Douglas McDermott

Douglas McDermott is an accomplished professional with a diverse background in athletics, education, and business leadership. He began his academic journey at Essex Community College, earning his degree in 1992, before transferring to Towson University, where he graduated in 1995.

With a lifelong passion for athletics and mentoring student-athletes, Douglas went on to serve as the Assistant Men’s Soccer Coach at Penn State Brandywine from 2019 through 2024. During his tenure, he played an integral role in guiding the program to remarkable success, highlighted by the team’s historic run as National Champions in 2021. His ability to develop talent, foster teamwork, and mentor young athletes left a lasting impact on the program and its players.

Beyond the field, Douglas has combined his love for sports with his expertise in recruitment and professional development. He currently serves as a Senior Recruiting Specialist with NCSA College Recruiting, where he works closely with student-athletes and their families to connect them with college opportunities across the country. His deep understanding of both the athletic and academic landscape allows him to provide invaluable guidance throughout the recruiting process.

In addition to his work in athletics and recruitment, Douglas is also an entrepreneur. He is the Owner of West Chester Lifestyle, a local publication and community-driven platform that highlights the people, businesses, and stories that make West Chester a vibrant place to live and thrive. His leadership in this role reflects his commitment to building stronger connections within his community.

Through his varied career, Douglas McDermott has consistently demonstrated a passion for mentorship, leadership, and service. Whether coaching on the sidelines, guiding student-athletes through the recruiting process, or building community connections through media, he continues to make a meaningful impact in every endeavor.
