My Story
Robbie grew up in South Wales, United Kingdom, playing soccer through the Valley leagues alongside his brothers, Mel and Luke, under the guidance of his father, an ex-professional player and coach. He played for clubs including Ystrad Mynach Boys’ Club, New Inn & Griffithstown Football Clubs, and Cwmbran Town.
At the age of 19, Robbie moved to the United States to continue his soccer career, relocating to Kansas City, Missouri, to play collegiate soccer at Avila University. During this period, he was part of the MLS Kansas City Wizards' practice squad while pursuing a professional contract. Unfortunately, his professional momentum ended at this time following a serious car accident.
Despite the setback, Robbie has remained active as both a player and coach for more than three decades. Over that time, he has coached across youth, club, high school, and collegiate levels, contributing to player development and program growth at every stage of the game.
In Kansas City, he is best known as the self-proclaimed “Greatest Goal Scorer In All American History,” a nod to his prolific scoring over 30 years at the legendary All American Indoor Soccer Center.
Robbie is married to Maria and has three children. His passion for the game is carried on through his family, including his son, Robbie Davies Jr., who also played collegiate soccer at Avila University. Soccer remains a central part of his life, both on and off the field.
