My Story
Nes was born in Bogota, Colombia and migrated to Queens NY in 1986. In 1993 my family moved from New York City to Salt Lake City, UT (talk about a culture shock) which is where I started playing soccer with local youth club teams such as America and Firebirds. Within my first year of playing soccer I was selected to play on the ODP team and represent the state of Utah. As the years passed, my game started to evolve and I became a regular on the ODP squad and even became captain of the team. During my High Shcool years I was named captain of the varsity team and was named to the All-Region Team in 1998 and was given the Region 3 Honorable Mention award in 1997. After my High School and ODP years and due to my family's financial circumstances, I decided to stay in Utah and play at Salt Lake Community College where I became team captain during my whole college career. Around this time I also made my debut with the Utah Blitzz Reserve team (USL), which was a new semi pro team at that time. In 2005, I decided to join the Air Force and was selected to the All Air Force team in 2006. During my time in the military (2005-2015) I was lucky enough to play in various countries and even got to play in stadiums around Qatar against professional teams such as Al Sadd SC. In 2010 I decided to move to San Diego, CA and continued playing futbol for local adult teams and also started traveling across the U.S. to play in various Men's soccer tournaments.
