Dr. Sam Armitage

Dr. M. Sam Armitage founded Pelican Family Medicine in 2001 with the mission to be the most affordable, innovative, patient-centered family practice in the area. Since then, Pelican has opened two satellite locations in Burgaw and Monkey Junction to expand easy-access services to New Hanover and Pender Counties. Dr. Armitage and his staff of nurse practitioners and physician assistants are trained and experienced in caring for all ages ranging from newborn babies to the elderly. Pelican Family Medicine offers preventative care, women's health, and disease-specific care such as treatment for diabetes, obesity, and weight loss counseling.
