My Story
Jay Sedory, MEd, ATC, EMT-T, TSAC-F*D, is an accomplished athletic trainer and emergency medicine professional with more than two decades of experience spanning military, tactical, collegiate, and professional sport environments. He currently serves as Lead Athletic Trainer for the United States Marine Corps at Quantico, Virginia, where he provides clinical services, injury rehabilitation, and performance optimization for over 2,000 active-duty Marines. In addition, Jay is the Medical Coordinator for the Armed Forces Soccer Team, overseeing medical operations for national and international competition, and a Human Performance Specialist with O2X, delivering health, wellness, and readiness programs to tactical athletes in law enforcement, firefighting, and military units nationwide. Jay’s expertise extends far beyond the sidelines. He has served as a Federal Tactical Medic for the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services, a Tactical Medic with the Virginia State Police, and an instructor with the Counter Narcotic and Terrorism Operational Medical Support (CONTOMS) program. In these roles, he has provided critical medical care in high-threat environments, designed injury prevention programs, and trained professionals in tactical medicine, human performance, and emergency care. Jay also shares his knowledge as an adjunct instructor at George Mason University, where he educates and mentors the next generation of athletic training professionals. A published researcher and respected thought leader, Jay has contributed to peer-reviewed journals and practitioner publications on topics ranging from muscle dysmorphia and body image disorders to emergency airway management and hemorrhage control. His multidisciplinary background—combining sports medicine, tactical operations, human performance, and academic instruction—positions him as a trusted leader in both athletic and tactical health care. Passionate about advancing the profession, Jay continues to innovate and advocate for the integration of holistic, data-driven approaches to injury prevention, readiness, and performance enhancement.
